Job Title: Muslim Chaplain

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Muslim Chaplain to join our Chaplaincy team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide spiritual and religious care to patients and staff in the Muslim faith tradition, working alongside Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) and within a Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide pastoral, spiritual, and religious care to patients, relatives, and staff within the Trust.
  • Work with the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Team to develop and provide a sustainable chaplaincy service in all areas of the Trust.
  • Participate in the on-call duty rota, responding to urgent requests for pastoral, spiritual, and religious care for patients of all faiths, traditions, and none.
  • Support the Lead Chaplain in the day-to-day running of the Chaplaincy and deputise in their absence if required.
Requirements
  • Degree-level training in a subject relevant to healthcare chaplaincy.
  • Accreditation/acknowledged status for faith/belief community leadership role.
  • Commitment to undertake further training essential to the requirements of the post.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate degree or diploma in a chaplaincy-related discipline.
  • Registration with the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains or eligibility to register.

  • Ability to establish effective relationships and maintain the cooperation of others.
  • Trustworthiness, showing careful attention to the individual and specific needs of those in their care.
