Job Title: Senior Research Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Manager to join our team at Meningitis Research Foundation. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in developing and managing our research grants program, aligning with our new research strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of our new research strategy, identifying and onboarding scientific advisory panel members with relevant expertise.
  • Work with our Senior Research Officer to oversee the launch of grant rounds and coordinate peer reviews in alignment with AMRC requirements.
  • Manage post-award processing, monitoring, and governance of successful grant applications.
  • Support the Head of Research in identifying and responding to relevant meningitis research consultations in the UK and internationally.
  • Monitor and respond to developments in the UK and international research funding environment.
  • Lead the management of our genomics research program, setting up and maintaining partner contracts, monitoring progress, and coordinating submission of quarterly reports to funders.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant biomedical science or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in performing peer review and grant management, ideally in line with Association of Medical Research Charity (AMRC) requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK research funding environment.
  • Demonstrable management skills or a professional project management qualification.
  • Project budget management experience.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
