About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Adult Social Care Lawyer to join our Legal Services team at Bury Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in advising on a broad range of matters involving vulnerable adults, including Court of Protection cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on complex Court of Protection matters, including providing expert guidance on legal compliance and policy development.
  • Support adult social care colleagues in their work with vulnerable adults, ensuring excellent practice and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our legal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Head of Social Care Legal Team to ensure seamless collaboration and effective service delivery.
Requirements
  • Strong track record of success in a similar role, with expertise in Public and Private Law (Children's).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Advocacy experience, with a proven ability to represent clients in complex legal cases.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy frameworks, including the Mental Capacity Act and the Care Act.
