Midwife Training Programme

We are seeking a Registered Adult Nurse to join our Midwifery Training Programme, a two-year, full-time Masters programme provided jointly with Sheffield Hallam University and the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Course OverviewThis programme is designed to equip nurses with the knowledge and skills required to develop their expertise in midwifery, leading to professional registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The programme will provide a 50% practice placement element and 50% theory, with 80% of the theory delivered online as distance learning.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the provision of high-quality midwifery care and the appropriate use and development of resources.
- Work through a recognised Midwifery Preparation programme as directed by the NMC.
We are looking for a nurse with a passion for midwifery, good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months experience in practice and a first degree (2:2 or above) or Advanced Diploma in Nursing.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary, paid up to midpoint Band 5, and the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in midwifery. Upon completion of the programme, you will be eligible to register as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and transition to a Band 5 midwife post.
Please note that it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate.
