Licensing Officer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Licensing Officer to join our team at Adecco UK Limited. As a key member of our Private Hire Vehicle Licensing department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our licensing services.
Job Purpose and Role:Under the guidance of the Section Leader, you will assist in the processing of applications for licenses, permits, and registrations received by the Council. Your duties will include:
- Contributing to the efficient operation of Licensing Services.
- Ensuring accurate fee collection and record-keeping.
- Providing excellent customer service, responding to inquiries, and offering advice and information to the public, local businesses, and council officers.
- Processing and issuing applications for licenses and registrations.
- Maintaining accurate records, statistics, and registers in both manual and computer systems.
- Answering telephone calls and personal inquiries.
- Preparing and sending standard letters and memoranda as required.
- Attending meetings, conferences, and seminars as necessary.
- Preparing and presenting reports to relevant officers and Members.
- Performing duties outside normal office hours or as directed by the Head of Service.
- Acting in accordance with the Council's Constitution and other Codes of Conduct.
- Participating in staff development, appraisal, and training as appropriate.
- Complying with the Council's policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and Data Protection.
- Undertaking additional tasks and duties as directed and appropriate to the role.
- Contributing to the development of the service and service improvement.
- Supporting the Council's commitment to crime reduction and community safety.
