We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Governance Specialist to join our IT Information Security Team in the UK. This is a challenging role that requires strategic leadership and management skills to oversee governance, risk, and compliance activities for Information Security and the wider Technology team.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of information security best practices, standards, and controls, as well as experience working with security frameworks and relevant regulations including ISO27001; NIST; PCI; GDPR.
Key responsibilities include:
- Line management of several direct reports within the team, ensuring effective resource allocation and workload delivery.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on security and technology compliance requirements, providing guidance to the business and 3rd party representatives.
- Developing and maintaining a suitable control framework to manage security and technology risks within appetite, covering areas such as policies & standards, supply chain risk, operational risks, user education, and operational resilience / business continuity oversight.
- Providing security and risk consultancy to support business-as-usual activities and share expertise with the wider Technology Team and business stakeholders.
- Maintaining personal skills in the context of technology GRC, best practices, and the strategic direction of the Connells Group.
- Owning the governance, risk, and compliance aspects of the security policies across the group.
- Supporting internal and external audits, responses to lenders, and oversight of subsidiary control frameworks.
- Carrying out security assessments on third parties to manage supply-chain risk.
Desirable qualifications include professionally recognized certifications such as CISMP, CISSM, or CISSP, along with experience in similar roles or broad success in senior Information Security positions. A good knowledge of current and emerging security controls and approaches, e.g., Zero Trust, DLP, access and identity management, is also essential.
The salary range for this position is estimated at £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from suitably qualified candidates regardless of background, disability, age, or other factors.
