Financial Reporting Accountant Opportunity

Marks Sattin Ltd is partnering with a leading blue-chip organisation in Birmingham to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant on a full-time permanent basis. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with three days expected at the client's offices.

About the Role

The Financial Reporting Accountant will report to the Group Finance Manager and be responsible for providing technical knowledge and guidance on IFRS and UK GAAP. They will assist with internal and external financial reporting, ensuring standardised reporting and maintaining robust internal controls. The ideal candidate will have experience auditing large corporate and listed Plc's, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical expertise on IFRS and UK GAAP, including insight into financial reporting policies
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, including the Financial Reporting team, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Internal Audit
  • Responsible for monthly reporting and budgeting/forecasting
  • Playing an integral role in the year-end process to deliver the consolidated audit
  • Liaising with the external audit team on complex queries
Requirements
  • A fully qualified accountant, ideally ACA Qualified from a Big 4 or Top 10 Accounting firm
  • Technically strong accountant with IFRS and GAAP knowledge
  • Experience auditing large corporate and listed Plc's
  • Interpersonally strong, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
  • A proficient systems user with good Excel skills
