Mace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Management Director to join our team. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Cost Planning and Management: Develop and implement cost planning strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.
- Procurement and Contract Management: Lead the procurement process, ensuring effective stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.
- Cost Estimation and Analysis: Provide expert technical/functional advice applying value management techniques at the outset of projects.
- Team Leadership: Manage a large team of direct reports, driving the appropriate behaviours to achieve success & key performance indicators (KPIs), including a continuous improvement culture.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
- Experience: Proven experience across a variety of sectors and projects, with a strong understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver.
- Qualifications: Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent), with detailed knowledge of forms of contract and capex V opex cost analysis/advice.
- Skills: Strong commercial and financial acumen, leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams, and knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
