**Job Summary**

The New York State is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer Assistant to join our team. As an Environmental Engineer Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the protection of the state's natural resources and promoting sustainable development.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide technical review and comment for on-site wastewater treatment systems.
  • Evaluate stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Evaluate permit applications for single family dwellings, subdivisions, mines and other activities.
  • Evaluate and develop corrective actions for enforcement cases.
  • Assess shoreline stabilization proposals and make recommendations.
  • Review jurisdictional inquiries.
  • Assist with engineering aspects of State Land reviews and Local Government activities.

**Requirements**

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information and results.
  • Able to travel to meetings, sites, and outside conferences, as required.

**Working Conditions**

The incumbent will be required to attend field visits to evaluate Agency transactions and coordinate review with project sponsors, contractors, consultants, and federal, state and local authorities as necessary.
