About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Hydrologist to join our team in Scotland, with opportunities for hybrid or remote working. As a key member of our hydrology team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality water assessments to support planning applications.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Training and developing junior team members in hydrology and project management skills;
  • Preparing and managing junior staff producing EIA-R and EA water environment assessments;
  • Managing the production of Private Water Supply risk assessments;
  • Designing and managing surface water and groundwater monitoring programmes;
  • Preparing Controlled Activity Regulation authorisation applications for water abstractions, effluent discharges, engineering activities, and construction site licenses;
  • Client liaison and project management;
  • Liaising with regulators and agreeing scope of works on behalf of our clients;
  • Proposal writing and business development.

The ideal candidate will have formal training in hydrology and a demonstrable track record of delivering water assessments in support of planning applications for wind and electrical transmission projects. Experience in hydrogen, solar, and substation development projects is also desirable.

We expect you to be professional, communicate effectively, and possess a full current driving license valid in the UK. You will need to be able to work under your own initiative and as part of a team. Experience in mentoring and developing staff is advantageous.
