The Manchester Metropolitan University is expanding its IT and Digital Directorate, seeking a highly skilled Network and Security Architect to join the Infrastructure and Operations team.

About the Role:

This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years. The successful candidate will occupy a pivotal position at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, ensuring secure network access control, identity management, and policy enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implementation, and management of Cisco ISE deployment within the organisation's IT infrastructure.
  • Balancing a holistic understanding of the organisation's security goals.

Additional Requirements:

  • Assessing organisational network requirements.
  • Preparing detailed technical documentation and project roadmaps.
  • Installing and configuring Cisco ISE servers and appliances.
  • Integrating Cisco ISE with existing network infrastructure.
  • Configuring and testing network access policies.
  • Conducting system and integration tests to verify functionality.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues related to authentication, policy enforcement, and network access.

We are looking for a strong knowledge of Cisco ISE and Catalyst Centre architecture, installation, and configuration. Additionally, familiarity with networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection systems is required.
