Job Title: PLC Specialist

We are a leading manufacturing company, committed to innovation and operational excellence. Our company offers a competitive salary between £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, based on experience.

About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our automated systems. You will ensure that our equipment runs smoothly, diagnosing and resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime, and making modifications and updates to programming as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct PLC fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to resolve system issues promptly.
  • Modify and program PLCs to optimize machine performance and accommodate production changes.
  • Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to ensure equipment is functioning efficiently and effectively.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and updates to PLC-controlled systems to improve reliability and reduce the risk of faults.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of PLC programs, modifications, and system configurations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing automation enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards when working on PLC systems and associated equipment.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Proven experience in PLC fault finding, modification, and programming in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with a variety of PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  • HNC qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of automation systems and their integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all aspects of the role.
