About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring strong financial governance, and providing strategic direction to drive financial performance, reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Orders & Billing, and Management Accounting functions, leading and managing a team of four direct reports and providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure high performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide strategic financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to senior management to support business decision-making.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company's financial stability.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance with the support of external advisors.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, debt providers, and other third-party stakeholders as required.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory filings and reports.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a Financial Controller role or similar position within a UK-based PE-backed company. You should have excellent leadership and team management skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
