Oldham, Oldham, United Kingdom Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our innovative Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Service at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

As an experienced CBT Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychology assessments, formulation, interventions, and consultation services to promote recovery and valued living for individuals with At-Risk Mental State (ARMS), First Episode Psychosis (FEP), and their families. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide biopsychosocial treatment programs, support Family Intervention, and ensure effective referrals to therapies within EIS.

Your expertise in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) will enable you to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients, assess and manage risk, and deliver evidence-based interventions. You will also supervise and guide MDT colleagues to facilitate psychological thinking and interventions throughout the service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver specialist CBT services to promote recovery and valued living for individuals with ARMS and FEP.
  2. Collaborate closely with MDT colleagues to provide biopsychosocial treatment programs.
  3. Support the delivery of Family Intervention.
  4. Assist in coordinating referrals to therapies within EIS and ensuring waiting times are managed effectively.
  5. Provide a CBT perspective within the team and consult with MDT colleagues.
Requirements
  • A postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and accreditation with the BABCP (or working towards accreditation via KSF route or equivalent).
  • Further short courses and experience to Masters Level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Core Mental Health Professional qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification in CBT for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorder.
  • Supervisor qualifications.
Benefits

You will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and innovative environment, where you can develop your skills and knowledge in mental health therapy. We offer excellent professional development opportunities, including access to expert clinical supervision, specialist teaching, and training to support your career growth.

Our organisation has secured additional investment to expand the psychological therapies service to people aged 14-35 with an At-Risk Mental State (ARMS). This presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by psychosis.
