Senior Risk and Insurance Officer

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk and Insurance Officer to join our team at Bristol City Council. As a key member of our risk management team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our Risk Management Assurance Policy and processes.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Support the delivery of a comprehensive insurance and claims handling service for the Council, its departments, and key partners
* Deputise for the Risk and Insurance Manager and coordinate the activities of the Risk and Insurance Officers
* Hold a part or full CCAB (or equivalent qualification) and have the ability to remain objective, ask challenging questions, plan, organise, and make intelligent decisions
* Local government risk and insurance experience would be an advantage for this role as would Institute of Risk Management Certificate, Association of Risk Management Registered Risk Provider or working toward either of those qualifications
* Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check

**Requirements**

* Full CCAB or Certified Member of the Institute of Risk Management (or equivalent qualification)
* Sharp financial acumen to build robust commercial and economic models, define appropriate pricing strategies, and ensure budgets & forecasts, including revenue and capital projections, are sound and support proposed changes
* Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the financial markets, funding requirements, and opportunities
