Job Description

This SEN Specialist Teacher role is a fantastic opportunity to work in an inclusive secondary school setting, supporting students with special educational needs and making a real difference in their lives. As a member of our team, you will work closely with the SENCO, therapists, and teaching assistants to develop and implement individualized learning plans, ensuring that students receive the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth among students with special needs.
  • Deliver personalized and engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN requirements, working collaboratively with the SENCO and other professionals.
  • Collaborate with therapists, teaching assistants, and other stakeholders to develop and implement individualized learning plans, ensuring that students receive the best possible support.
  • Show flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the school community, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in SEN education.

Requirements

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with a background in SEN support, preferably in secondary settings.
  • Have previous experience working with students with SEN in secondary schools, demonstrating expertise in adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills, able to build positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK, holding a valid DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one.

Salary and Benefits
