Advanced Dissector

About the Role

The University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Dissector to join our team. As a key member of our histopathology department, you will play a vital role in supporting the consultant team and contributing to the delivery of a high-quality, accurate, and cost-effective service.

Main Responsibilities

• Participate in the surgical dissection of diagnostic B-E graded histopathology specimens, working closely with consultants and other team members to ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
• Act as a designated person responsible for coordinating activities for the dissection team, providing leadership and guidance as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the whole dissection team to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as required.
• Participate in audits to monitor the effectiveness of dissection practices and facilitate the implementation of service improvement changes based on findings.
• Facilitate the induction, training, and competencies of staff within the dissection area, ensuring timely completion of all induction, training, and competency records.
