About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of our infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and negotiation of subcontract documentation, including terms and conditions, prices, and programmes.
  • Oversee the management of subcontract works packages, including interim assessments of the amount due and subsequent change management.
  • Produce and issue all commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required by the form of contract.
  • Manage change in a timely manner in accordance with the form of contract, including the production and submission of Compensation Event Quotations.
  • Produce and submit monthly applications to clients in accordance with the form of contract.
  • Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to the required standard.
  • Produce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations as required by the business unit or project.
  • Produce and maintain a detailed 'Cost Plan', tracking and forecasting expenditure, including detailed schedules of subcontractor liabilities and use of Oracle-based cost analyses.
  • Interpret and critically evaluate expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.

About You:

  • You will have a good appreciation of standard forms of contract.
  • You will have strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
  • You will have strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  • You will have solid knowledge of construction processes.
  • You will have NEC/Option C experience.
  • You will have main contract experience.
  • You will have a professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally incorporated member, working towards full membership (desirable).
  • You will have experience in a Civil Engineering Environment (Highways/Rail/Water/Aviation) working with Highways England or Local Authority clients.
