Job Description

This is a leadership position for a Ward Manager to oversee the Acute Mental Health Services at Highbury Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading a team of nursing professionals to provide high-quality care to patients. This role requires excellent leadership and management skills, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.

About the Role:

  • The Ward Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring that patients receive effective services and performance targets are met.
  • The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to deliver a challenging agenda.
  • This is a fixed-term contract for 9 months, providing an opportunity for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead a multi-disciplinary team in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • To manage and develop clinical ward staff, ensuring they have the necessary training and support.
  • To work closely with medical colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • To participate in on-call rota, providing leadership support out of usual hours to AMH services.

Person Specification:

  • A professional qualification in mental health or learning disabilities, plus further specialist knowledge or post-registration experience.
  • Maintain current registration on a professional register.
  • Demonstrates continuing professional development within their specialism.
  • Management and leadership qualification or experience.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Location: Highbury Hospital, Bulwell, Nottinghamshire.
