Senior Accountant Opportunity

This is a highly appealing opportunity for an experienced Audit and Accounts professional to join a dynamic and growing independent chartered accountancy practice in Croydon. You will be offered a progressive position where you can enhance your career, working on a full-time basis.

The firm has a modern approach and a well-established reputation as a leading advisor to SME owner-managed businesses across the country. The practice provides clients with year-end accounts, tax compliance & advisory, management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll services. As a Senior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to get involved in all areas of accounting and take on as much responsibility as you feel comfortable with. The team has a relaxed, close-knit atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Managers and Partners, the role will focus mainly on audit and accounts activities.
  • Support a diverse portfolio of clients from owner-managed to not-for-profit organisations.
  • Liaise with the team and client to lead audits from planning through to completion.
  • Provide accountancy and taxation advice and support to clients as necessary.
  • Host and conduct pre-audit and post-audit meetings with clients.
  • Assist in the management of a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants.
  • Mentor colleagues, reviewing their work and encouraging prompt and high-quality delivery and service.
  • Develop and expand the team's skillset through development plans and training and support.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.

Requirements:

  • You will be required to be qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience with relevant experience.
  • You will have a background in an accountancy practice, with at least 1-3 years or more experience preparing accounts, conducting audits, tax and other responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • You will be looking for a challenging, long-term career move at Senior level within a genuinely growing and expanding firm of certified chartered accountants, offering progression and career development.
