Mammography Specialist

Our team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a skilled Mammography Specialist to join our radiology department. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy Breast Unit, delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.

This is a full-time position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with our Superintendent Radiographer to provide a comprehensive screening, assessment, and symptomatic service. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of radiation protection and IT skills necessary for Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).

• Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients in the Breast Screening and Assessment Centre based at the RVI and in the community on 3 breast screening trailers.
• Collaborate with the Superintendent Radiographer to provide a comprehensive screening, assessment, and symptomatic service.
• Work effectively in a team environment to deliver a high-quality radiographic service.

• HCPC registered.
• BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
• Post Graduate qualification in a clinical speciality (e.g. mammography), or post graduate specialist short courses or relevant specialist experience.

The salary for this role is £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements, access to training and development opportunities, and a contributory pension scheme.

The Newcastle Breast Screening Service delivers a screening service to a large rural area. A current driving licence and access to a car are essential. We are a flexible working-friendly organisation and want to accommodate a flexible working arrangement that suits both us and our patients.
