Electronics Obsolescence Engineer Job Description

Job Summary:

Ultra Electronics Group is seeking an Electronics Obsolescence Engineer to join our team. As an Electronics Obsolescence Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and resolving obsolescence for our wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obsolescence Monitoring: Work with 3rd party companies providing obsolescence monitoring, Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) sub-contractors, and hardware engineers periodically reporting obsolescence.
  • Estimation and Planning: Estimate time and effort required for electronic obsolescence activities and deliver to these time and effort estimates to ensure cost and schedule adherence.
  • Debugging and Resolution: Assist with rapid debugging and resolution of electronic hardware issues encountered in order to minimize production delays.
  • Security Management: Manage security of information as defined in the Security Manual to ensure compliance with Government regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Apprenticeship or Degree in an Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Component datasheets, Circuit schematics, Printed Circuit Board layouts, Experience of analogue and digital circuits, High-speed digital designs that include processors and programmable devices.
