Job Title: Senior Conservation Architect

About the Role:

Hunter Dunning, a specialist heritage and conservation practice, is seeking a Senior Conservation Architect to join their team in London. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring staff, leading the preparation and development of drawn and written documentation, and attending client meetings throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of technical professionals and engage with stakeholders, contractors, and specialists.
  • Provide specialist advice on pre-applications and planning applications.
  • Develop and implement conservation strategies for historic buildings and conservation areas.
  • Collaborate with external consultants to ensure high-quality project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the practice's conservation expertise and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • 10 years of experience post-qualification working on UK conservation and historic building projects.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and engage with stakeholders, contractors, and specialists.
  • Demonstrate a good eye for historic design and a thorough understanding of contractual procedures.
  • Experience in historical report writing and technical knowledge.
  • Experience working on restoration works on listed buildings.
  • CA/SCA RIBA; AABC; or equivalent would be desirable.
  • Full or Associate Member of the IHBC would be desirable.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Photoshop.
  • Strong knowledge of the planning process and conversant with the relevant environmental/heritage legislation and guidance.

What We Offer:

  • Salary of £58,000 - £62,000.
  • Annual bonus.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional day per year of service.
