The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites experienced nurses to apply for a challenging yet rewarding role on the 317 Ward of the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
This position involves managing patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that patients presenting with cardiological needs are met. The ward cares for a diverse range of patients, from acute short-stay admissions to those with chronic cardiac disease and end-of-life care. We have a cardiology day unit which has expanded our services. Our department collaborates closely with cardiothoracic services at the Freeman Hospital.
We offer opportunities for professional development, including coronary care nursing and leadership roles. This is a unique chance to grow your career in a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting staff, patients, and carers on the ward or department.
- Mentoring junior staff, students, and associated roles.
- Providing high-quality care to patients with acute and chronic cardiac problems on a 17-bed Cardiology ward and a 4-chair Cardiology day unit.
- Supporting the Senior Sister as her deputy, focusing on delivering excellent patient care, maintaining a safe environment, and effectively managing resources.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance working relationships between departments.
We seek a highly motivated and experienced nurse with a background in cardiology or coronary care. As an NHS trust, we value flexibility and work-life balance. If you're interested in a flexible working arrangement, please discuss this with us. For successful candidates who require a DBS check, it's essential to note that they will be responsible for paying for their DBS certificate.
