Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced English teacher to join our team. As an English teacher, you will be responsible for engaging students in the learning process, ensuring learner outcomes are maximised, and delivering interesting and enjoyable lessons. You may be required to teach a range of courses, including General English, IELTS, and Cambridge exam preparation, as well as Business, Finance, and EAP/ESP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance and administrative duties
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as needed
  • Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
  • Attend meetings to contribute to decision-making and develop productive working relationships
  • Be on site 15 minutes before the start of the first lesson
  • Have regular meetings with an Academic Manager to set objectives and measure progress
  • Participate in monthly CPD sessions and run development or training sessions as required
  • Take on other responsibilities to support the work of EP
Safeguarding and Welfare Responsibilities
  • Promote safeguarding within the venue and work with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment
  • Provide emotional and pastoral care for students and promote their mental and physical wellbeing
  • Effectively manage classroom management and student behaviour
  • Be aware of prevent duty and report any concerns to the Prevent lead and/or safeguarding lead
  • Make yourself aware of EP's safeguarding policy, attendance policy, safer recruitment policy, and other relevant policies
Requirements
  • Teaching qualifications: CELTA/CertTesol, DELTA, Trinity Dip TESOL, or equivalent at Master's level
  • Experience leading social programme activities
  • Demonstrable experience teaching similar courses in English Language schools
  • Excellent English language knowledge and understanding of teaching methodology in a multilingual environment
  • Structured and creative approach to lesson planning
  • Ability to work with classroom technology with ease and creativity
  • Professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students
  • Ability to maintain thorough and organised student records
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and enthusiasm for working as a team
