The role of Senior Buyer at Halo Personnel involves overseeing the procurement process for our client, a leading distributor of sealing solutions and manufacturer of gaskets and plastic packaging. As part of their team, you will be responsible for managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attending supplier review meetings via Microsoft Teams
  • Carrying out supplier visits to build positive relationships
  • Negotiating new contracts and price increases
  • Implementing supplier rebate agreements
  • Managing departmental KPIs and reporting directly to the MD
  • Dealing with far-East and European Shipping and delivery schedules
  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Creating the daily stock shortage report
  • Processing Purchase Orders
  • Managing order confirmations
  • Updating Purchase Order dates on the inhouse system
  • Checking delivery supplier notes and matching to invoices
  • Managing supplier order books
  • Dealing with purchase order and invoice queries
  • Managing unconfirmed/late orders and overseeing supplier on-time delivery
  • Sending supplier requests for quotations
  • Managing key supplier consignment stock
  • Looking at new suppliers and undertaking re-sourcing projects
  • Working on cost-down initiatives
  • Managing imports and freight companies

Requirements:

  • Experience in procurement and supply chain, ideally from the manufacturing or engineering sectors
  • Confident and able to deal with suppliers over the phone
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Experience in using procurement systems
