Job Title: Night Shift Field Operations Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Night Shift Field Operations Technician to join our team at Shorterm Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our clean water asset management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a broad spectrum of field-based activities, including trunk and distribution main isolations, asset investigation and validation, operability testing, reservoir outages, and mains disinfections.
  • Conduct water quality activities such as flushing and sampling.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in the clean water industry, with a strong background in field operations.
  • First-person lead on trunk main isolations on large diameter mains, with experience in district metered area validation, zonal pressure tests, and valve shut-offs and step testing.
  • Large diameter trunk main isolations, asset verification and validations, EUSR Water Hygiene Valve operations, including CALM Networks, and NRSWA Operative (Unit 2) certification.
  • IT proficiency, including Office365, GIS mapping tools, PDA/Tablet use, and online reporting software.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary: £36,000 - £45,000.
  • Overtime paid at time and a half.
  • Pension: 4% employer contribution.
  • Holiday: 20 days plus UK bank holidays (usually 8 days) plus long service reward.
  • Tools and Equipment: Company utility van with air conditioning, fuel card, and all tolls paid upfront.
  • Contract mobile phone and tablet and/or toughbook.
  • All uniform and any PPE required.
  • Any tools and equipment deemed necessary to fulfill your role.
  • Weekend working: Optional weekend work as overtime (time and a half).
