Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Nursery Cook in preparing and serving meals and snacks that meet the nutritional needs of our children.
  • Work with the Nursery Cook to plan and purchase ingredients within budget.
  • Ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized kitchen, including cleaning equipment and utensils.
  • Support the Nursery Cook in ensuring that meals are served on time and to a high standard.
  • Participate in food hygiene training and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Basic food safety and hygiene knowledge.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and ingredients.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
