We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Associate Specialist in Haematology to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to make a significant contribution to the development of our Haematology service and lead for the Acute Oncology Service.

About the Role

As an Associate Specialist in Haematology, you will be an essential member of our Haematology team, working across Coventry and Warwickshire. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking administrative duties associated with patient care, including activity data, in line with Trust Policy.
  • Providing out-of-hours support across Coventry and Warwickshire as part of an on-call rota.
  • Providing expert advice and support to healthcare professionals caring for patients with Haematology needs.
  • Providing clinical leadership and support for the Haematology department.
  • Providing a comprehensive clinical and laboratory service at George Eliot Hospital and, as part of the network arrangements, at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practise.
  • A postgraduate research qualification, such as an MSc, MD, or PhD.
  • A full driving licence and basic IT skills.
  • Some experience in all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology.
  • General Medical Rotation within the UK.
  • Experience and interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
  • Experience in undertaking research projects.
  • Experience in organisation of Audit Projects.
