About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Qualitative Insights to join our team at Material. As a key member of our Communities Team, you will be responsible for managing and leading 3-5 long-term communities/accounts at a time, acting as a thought partner to clients, and developing trust and building lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead 3-5 long-term communities/accounts at a time, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Act as a thought partner to clients, educating them about the research process, framing insights for actionable recommendations, and developing trust and building lasting relationships.
  • Develop and review community activity and discussion guides, costing projects, online and face-to-face moderation, and managing internal project members.
  • Develop nearly client-ready reports and deliverables, and oversee insights reporting responsibilities, including translating data into learnings and telling visual stories through data and comprehensive narratives.
  • Establish, support, and build thriving relationships with junior to mid-level Insights and Marketing client stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in market research, preferably with 2+ years of community experience, with a proven track record of managing multiple end-to-end research projects.
  • Strong understanding of qualitative methodologies, with a focus on communities, and experience with face-to-face moderation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex insights to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage relationships with external vendors.
  • Proficiency in market research software and tools, including Microsoft/Google Suites, and experience with platforms like ICMIB and Recollective.
