Job Title: Assistant Workshop Manager

Our client, a leading Experiential Design company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Workshop Manager to join their production team. Based near the borders of Essex and Hertfordshire, the role involves supporting all aspects of production build, general workshop responsibilities, and on-site work as required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, construction, and scenic knowledge, with experience in set build, props, and paint management. Excellent time-keeping and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production team in all aspects of production build and workshop responsibilities
  • Assist with on-site work, including prop making, CAD drawing, carpentry, metalworking, and scenic finishes
  • Develop practical skills in scenic, LX, sound, and electronics
  • Work in line with the Company's sustainability policy, minimizing wastage and organizing off-cuts for future use
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance and quality control for all projects

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Good time-keeping and communication skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a positive disposition
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Driving license

In return, the company offers a competitive salary of between £28k and £35k, plus BUPA and pension, and opportunities for training and career progression.
