Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Component Definition Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining electronic 2D technical drawings and 3D models, as well as preparing project documentation and reporting progress.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Preparation, production, and amendment of electronic 2D technical drawings and 3D models and part libraries throughout the design lifecycle in line with recognised ISO standards.
  2. Perform self-verification of own work in accordance with Project Guidance.
  3. Preparation, production, and maintenance of project documentation as required by the design lifecycle.
  4. Reporting of progress, issues, tasks, and project risks.
  5. Be aware of and ensure the implementation of safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  6. Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the standard and quality of outputs.

Requirements

  1. Recognised CAD training and/or qualification and demonstrable experience in appropriate software packages (e.g., Siemens NX, AutoCAD, FORAN).
  2. An understanding of procedures and requirements relating to Design, Health/Safety and Environmental, as well as Quality requirements.
  3. IT literate (Microsoft Office Suite, PDM systems).
  4. Strong communication and literacy skills with attention to detail.
  5. Good time management skills, self-motivation, and decision-making abilities.

Security Clearance

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently have this in place.

UK Nationality

You must hold UK nationality to work for Rolls-Royce Submarines. Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL.
