Newmarket, Suffolk, United Kingdom Racing Welfare Full time

Racing Welfare is a national charity supporting the British horseracing and thoroughbred breeding industry. We are seeking an advisory committee member to share our vision of supporting everyone in the industry and community.

The charity group, including Racing Homes, is seeking long-term sustainable funding for core services and planning the expansion and reorganisation of its housing portfolio.

We are looking for someone with a passion for our work and experience in charity audit and statutory compliance, construction projects, or legal expertise in the property or social housing sector.

The role involves governing and advising on services with direct contact with young people and vulnerable adults, requiring a satisfactory, enhanced DBS disclosure.

Committee members meet up to four times a year, with a one-off one-day induction and two additional days of commitment per year.

We invite committee members to join the Charity for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of Trusteeship after one year.

Racing Welfare continues to review, improve, and expand its welfare and wellbeing services, making a significant difference to the lives of individuals working in horseracing.

Racing Homes has 165 units of accommodation housing young people, working-age staff, and retirees from the Racing industry.

You will enjoy working alongside and learning from our team of executives, committee members, and trustees, developing your board member skills and potentially progressing to a trustee position.

To apply, please send a covering letter and CV by post or email, or submit a short video explaining your interest in the role and relevant experience.
