Job Title: Senior Operations Director

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior, experienced operational manager to further develop their strategic thinking and leadership skills as the Senior Operations Director for the Older People's and Adult Community Services (OPAC) Clinical Directorate at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT).

The Senior Operations Director role is a visible leadership position providing operational oversight of OPAC, to maintain quality of care, safety, patient experience and flow, ensuring the delivery of activity and outcomes within the budgeted resources available.

OPAC directorate incorporates Older People's Mental Health Inpatient and Community care including functional and organic wards, Memory Assessment Service, Crisis Rehabilitation & Home Treatment, Countywide Unplanned Care services, Community Physical Health Nursing, Therapy and Specialist Services for adults and older people, and the Windsor Research Unit.

We're looking for someone who demonstrates attention to detail, is adaptable, committed to the delivery of high quality care and is an active team player, politically astute and able to communicate at all levels. You will be a compassionate leader, who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Be accountable for the performance management of OPAC.
  2. Lead and support the planning, development and implementation of service transformation and improvement.
  3. Participate in long term planning and strategic projects for CPFT to ensure OPAC services are considered and that there is long term sustainable model.
  4. Promote a data driven approach and ensure sufficient and effective use of data to monitor performance and to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
  5. Ensure there is proactive management of risk and co-ordination of all responses to patient complaints in a timely way.
  6. There is a requirement to participate in CPFTs Director on call rota.
Person Specification:Education:
  • Postgraduate management qualification at Master's level or equivalent level of experience.
Experience:
  • Significant experience of managing operational services at a senior management level in a large, complex health care organisation. This would include sound working experience and knowledge of a number of management disciplines across Operations, Finance, HR and Governance
  • Successful record of managing and implementing substantial service transformation and organisational change projects
Knowledge and Understanding:
  • Knowledge of contracts and performance procedures.
  • Knowledge of National policy and standards of governance.
  • Knowledge of NHS and local Government strategies, policies and plans, in particular those linked with mental health services
  • Current knowledge of best practice gained through personal research.
