About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team in the hospital kitchen. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, assisting in the preparation of patient, staff, and visitor meals, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the hospital kitchen
  • Assist in the preparation of patient, staff, and visitor meals
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve high-quality food service
  • Follow instructions and possess good communication skills

Requirements:

  • Ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Desirable: Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate

Working Hours:

NHS Scotland is committed to reducing working hours from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. You may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
