Experienced Teacher Assessor for GCE Physical Education

We are seeking an experienced teacher assessor to join our team as a GCE A Level - Physical Education (2016 Specification) moderator.
As a GCE A Level - Physical Education (2016 Specification) moderator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and fairness of our assessment processes. You will be responsible for reviewing centre assessments, applying mark schemes, and providing feedback to centres.
The ideal candidate will have relevant teaching experience, a strong subject knowledge, and excellent communication skills. You will be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
You will also have the ability to apply the mark scheme accurately, provide constructive feedback, and maintain confidentiality throughout the moderation process.
A GCE A Level - Physical Education (2016 Specification) moderator can expect to earn an estimated salary of £500-£800 per year, depending on the number of samples allocated. This fee is paid for attending standardisation events and submitting reports to Pearson.
About this role:
Key Responsibilities- To carry out the moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in the centres and then sent to you.
- To undertake, when necessary, the direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
- One academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years, within the relevant qualification and subject, since qualifying as a teacher.
- A degree or equivalent.
- Qualified teacher status.
- High level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
The moderation period is between May and July. With an average allocation, your fee would be £500-£800. A fee for attending standardisation will also be paid when you have submitted your reports to Pearson.
