Senior Security Engineer - Vulnerability Management

About the Role

Tesco Technology is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our Vulnerability Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of our critical security tooling, while also automating operational burden. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing actionable insight into the security posture of our systems and platforms, prioritizing remediation activities for our engineering colleagues and system owners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detection, data correlation, and response capabilities in the Vulnerability Management space.
  • Evaluate new tools and techniques, articulating their value and impact, and contribute to the roadmap and strategy for Security testing.
  • Create Exposure Management capabilities to feed into our assurance process, demonstrating the effectiveness of security controls and guardrails across the business.
  • Contribute to our internal detection engineering program, using observations from security incidents, Bug Bounty submissions, and external threat intelligence.
  • Collaborate with analysts to upskill them in Vulnerability Management and identify patterns and issues that can be fixed centrally.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the IT Security Industry.
  • Experience with responding to security incidents in large-scale corporate environments.
  • A good understanding of Bug Bounty programs and active participation in this field.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar.
  • Experience with security controls and detection capabilities within Microsoft Azure at enterprise scale.
  • Expertise in networking, web services, and application testing.
  • Expert knowledge of DNS preventative network controls.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Scanning tools, such as Qualys and Tenable, and categorizing criticality and risk of vulnerabilities.
