Geomatics Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our team at CV-Library in Bath, Somerset. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for supporting the engineering team through all phases of the project by supplying site plans, implementing new technology, and using precision instrumentation & setting out structural features.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct land / topographic and engineering surveys using specialist equipment and technology
2. Set out and analyze data using plans, maps, charts, and software such as AutoCAD, Civils3D, Leica Survey Software
3. Prepare survey drawings and present data to clients and write reports
4. Advise on technical matters and work both on site and in an office as required

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

Technical Skills:

1. 2+ years of experience in a similar role
2. Specialist land surveying skills and experience of large infrastructure projects
3. Knowledge of reinforced concrete and experience in the use of an EDM/Total Station

Interpersonal Skills:

1. Numeracy and the ability to make mathematical calculations
2. The ability to understand and interpret data, and possess cutting-edge IT skills
3. Lateral and logical thinking, problem-solving, and analysis skills
4. Attention to detail, client management/customer service skills, and verbal and written communication skills

Education & Qualifications:

1. Degree in Geomatics / Engineering Surveying (desirable but not essential)
2. ICES/RICS (desirable but not essential)
3. Technical Qualifications (NVQ/HNC etc)
