Job Description

**Job Title:** Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner

**Job Type:** Permanent, Part-time (20 hours/week)

**Location:** Coventry

**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner to join our team at Red Snapper Group. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct support and assistance to women and children experiencing domestic abuse, maximizing their physical, mental, and social well-being.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support and assistance to women and children experiencing domestic abuse, including safety planning, risk and needs assessments, and individual support plans.
  • Develop and deliver a range of support services to women and their children, including case work, 1:2:1 support, and advice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and outside agencies to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Identify and develop support strategies to meet the needs of women and children affected by domestic abuse.
  • Provide excellent interpersonal skills, developing good relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and users of the service.

Requirements:

  • Good general level of education.
  • Good knowledge of domestic abuse issues and the statutory framework.
  • Good understanding of referrals processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good relationships with colleagues, volunteers, outside agencies, and users of the service.
  • Ability to speak at least one of the following languages: Urdu, Hindi, Mirpuri, Punjabi, Gujrati, or Bengali, Farzi, Pushtu, African languages, particularly Somalian.
