Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Outage Planning Engineer to join our team at Rullion. This is a contract role with a duration of up to Dec 2025, and the opportunity for extension beyond this.

Key Responsibilities
  • To develop fully logic linked and resourced task level plans for specific plant areas, reviewing historic similar plans to identify differences and reviewing these with appropriate Station departments.
  • Manage 'Scope Change' during preparation phase and include details of risk mitigations
  • With the outage plant area lead run the area outage preparation meeting, managing the agenda, recording and tracking actions.
  • Maintain plans during outage execution phase by updating progress, tracking critical path, building in and managing the impact of emergent work and identifying any errors / improvements required in the plan
  • Working with Operations to check and revise plans to maintain Tech Spec and other compliance requirements and to maximise 'Defence in Depth'
  • Support activities to deliver Pre-Outage Milestone Plans (POMP) for both statutory, off load refuelling outages and Fuel Route outages.
  • Liaise with the operational work planning team to ensure that pre and post outage work is identified and delivered as required to support successful outages
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience within Project planning/management.
  • Posses a HNC or equivalent in a engineering discipline or relevant is advantage.
  • Enthusiasm, drive, ownership and the ability to facilitate change.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work in cross-functional working groups.
About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leader in Nuclear Generation, contributing to the success of their Torness site in Dunbar. You will be working closely with the operations team to ensure that plans are maintained and updated throughout the outage execution phase.

The salary for this role is approximately £88,840 - £94,528 per annum, depending on experience.
