Workshop Manager Opportunity

Our client, a prestigious organization in the transportation sector, is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the productivity and efficiency of their busy workshop in Devon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance and a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.

The workshop is responsible for a diverse range of vehicles, including heavy goods vehicles, road tankers, gritters, RCVs, refuse vehicles, and road sweepers. The team under your guidance will be working on diesel, hybrid, and fully electric vehicles, so it is essential that you are up-to-date with modern vehicle technologies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring routine and preventative maintenance is carried out to the highest standards
  2. Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
  3. Performing scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  4. Conducting 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
  5. Correcting running defects
  6. Carrying out chassis and fabrication work
  7. Working on hydraulics and pneumatics
  8. Improving vehicle standards
  9. Inspecting and correcting electrical and wiring issues
