About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Lecturer to join our School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Leicester. The Lecturer will play a crucial role in fostering collaboration between our school and the University's Space-related research initiatives, such as Space Park Leicester, the Institute for Space, National Centre for Earth Observation, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in high-level research and teaching in Computer Science, with a focus on research publication, teaching material development, research supervision, and generating impactful research through grants, consultancy, and knowledge transfer.
- Work in a supportive environment with research and teaching mentoring, and contribute to the development of the School's research theme on Space Applications.
- Collaborate with colleagues on research projects, including Prof. Ashiq Anjum's work on downstream applications, digital twins, and high-performance systems.
- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching materials, and supervise research students in the field of Computer Science.
- Contribute to the School's research funding initiatives, and seek out opportunities for collaboration and citizenship, both internally and externally.
Requirements
- PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- An established reputation for research, with a high-quality publication profile and evidence of potentially fundable research ideas.
- Excellent networking skills, with the ability to seek out opportunities for collaboration and citizenship.
- A strong track record of research publication, teaching, and research supervision.
