Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Engineering to lead our engineering department and drive the successful delivery of high-quality software products and services. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department, developing and implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
- Manage the allocation of resources to meet project deadlines and business priorities.
- Establish best practices, coding standards, and development processes.
- Recruit, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
- Identify and address skill gaps within the team and provide professional development opportunities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Manage departmental budgets, including software, hardware, and staffing costs.
- Optimize resource allocation and ensure cost-effective delivery of engineering solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- ~8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- ~ Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
- ~ Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and best practices.
- ~ Deep knowledge of relevant technologies, languages, and frameworks used by the company.
- ~ Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
