About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Editor to join our dynamic team at Ebury Self, a leading publisher of non-fiction books. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for acquiring and developing a list of titles focused on faith and spirituality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with authors, agents, and other industry professionals to identify and acquire new titles.
  • Work closely with the Publishing Director to develop and implement a strategy for the faith-focused publishing list.
  • Commission and edit manuscripts to ensure they meet the high standards of Ebury Self.
  • Collaborate with the design and production teams to create visually appealing and engaging books.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing and publicity campaigns to promote our titles.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in commissioning and editing non-fiction books, particularly in the faith and spirituality genre.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with authors, agents, and other industry professionals.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of the publishing industry and current market trends.
