We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Rheumatology Nurse to join our established Rheumatology team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, assessing and treating patients in an outpatient setting while maintaining standards in accordance with professional boundaries.
- Work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Provide a highly specialist service to patients with chronic rheumatological conditions requiring higher levels of judgment and decision-making.
- Act as a resource to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, providing leadership, standard-setting guidelines, and policies.
- Manage a defined caseload and respond to advice line queries, referring patients to other members of the multidisciplinary team as required.
- Interpret and act upon blood results relating to rheumatological diseases, particularly for drug monitoring purposes.
- Manage a caseload of countywide outpatients through clinic attendances, including administrative activities such as dictating letters and requesting follow-up appointments.
- See and treat patients, ensuring protocols, policies, and procedures are adhered to in accordance with organizational and national targets.
- Undertake specialist rheumatology assessments, such as joint examinations and baseline/ongoing assessments of patients on biologic treatments and other DMARDs.
- Appropriate post-registration experience.
- Registered Nurse with NMC.
- Ability to prioritize workload, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and willingness to develop advanced skills in Rheumatology.
- Advanced IT skills.
