Design Manager Job Description

Astute's Nuclear team is exclusively partnered with a speciality lifting and handling equipment business, acting as the lifting principal contractor on Hinkley Point C, and in the future, Sizewell C to recruit a Design Manager for its Hinkley Point C project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage site technical documentation and supervise the technical aspects of site work.
  • Coordinate technical issues with the Nuclear New Build Generation Company and respond to client feedback on technical documents.
  • Oversee Field Change Requests and Non-Conformance Reports, as well as as-built documentation, designing temporary works, and coordinating experience feedback (REX).
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Engineering (ideally a mechanical or structural background)
  • Mechanical and steel construction design background
  • Assembling operations experience
  • Experience in the lifting and handling sector
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Excellent computer skills - Solidworks/Autocad
  • Technical writing skills
Personal Qualities
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Full current driving licence
  • Ability to maintain Company integrity through confidentiality and discretion
  • Ability to promote the Company
  • Ability to speak and understand basic French would be desirable
Benefits
  • Salary of up to £65,000
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
