About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Automation Specialist to join our team for the UK premiere of Hercules, opening in London Summer 2025. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity, running from Spring 2025 to Summer 2025.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working with automation within the entertainment sector, preferably in a similar role within a large-scale musical production. Your knowledge of setting up, maintaining, and operating automation systems, including electronics, electric motors, winches, and manual and automated rigging devices, will be highly beneficial. Experience in operating computerised automation control equipment is also desirable.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Head and Deputy Head of Automation to ensure the smooth running of all rehearsals and performances.
  • Perform daily setup, oversee automation rig checks, and provide clear communication within the Automation team.
  • Assist the Head and Deputy Head of Automation on day-to-day changes that might impact the running of the Production.
  • Ensure awareness of understudy and swing performances ahead of each show and make necessary adjustments.
  • Operate the show automation for performances, replicating the show's design.
  • Assist the Head and Deputy Head of Automation to ensure all Automation equipment is maintained so it is in working order for each performance.

About The Salary:

The salary for this role is £38,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will work 40 hours per week, with weekend and evening work integral (Monday to Saturday show schedule). Additional benefits include a pension scheme, life insurance, and access to discounted theatre tickets.
