About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Museum Technical Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team at London Transport Museum. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all Museum displays, audio visual, presentation, lecture, buildings, and ICT systems, equipment, and facilities services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day operations of all Museum premises at Covent Garden and Acton Depot.
  • Ensure the Museum meets cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Respond to Facilities and ICT Helpdesk requests within the SLA.
  • Provide handyman services to the Head of Contracts and Facilities.
  • Act as projectionist/technician for events held at Covent Garden or the Museum Depot at Acton.
  • Provide first line ICT support to public-facing services.
  • Cover weekends for a minimum of 1 out of every 3 weekends.

Requirements

  • Practical electrical and/or mechanical and IT experience.
  • Competent mechanical skills with basic hand and electrical tool skills.
  • Creative and flexible with an innovative, customer-focused approach.
  • Professional Facilities experience.
  • Experience in leisure or heritage facilities subject to regulatory licensing.
  • Technical knowledge of Facilities disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, and Fabric.
