Deputy Head of Resident Doctors

This is a fantastic opportunity to build partnerships with our private patient consultants, learn from specialist nurses, and be part of critical care pathways, as directed by the named consultants.
Key Responsibilities:- Support day-to-day Critical Care Ward and ITU units, providing medical care from admission, planning through to discharge.
- Independently manage the medical care of inpatients, including clerking new planned and unplanned admissions, conducting daily patient ward rounds, and responding to medical needs and emergencies, including airway management.
- Manage workforce planning to maintain the required patient to doctor ratios and ensure staffing levels are responsive to changes in patient census and needs.
- Strive for excellence at all times, providing guidance on new ways of working, improving efficiencies, Quality Improvement Projects, and increasing patient satisfaction opportunities, including audits and research.
- Lead on recruiting new Resident Doctors for permanent and temporary vacancies, providing robust orientation and supervision. Utilize your Critical Care knowledge to provide mentorship, support, and development.
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Executive Masters in Medical Leadership (EMML) or willingness to undertake the programme, funded by HCA.
- Have 5 years' Critical Care/Anaesthetic medical training.
- Have experience in planning the clinical workforce, making provisions for clinical education, supervising or training trainee doctors, and managing a diverse workforce and associated employee matters.
