About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at HMP Ashfield, a category C male establishment prison based in Pucklechurch near Bristol. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering work, preventative maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out fault finding and defect rectification to items of installed plant and equipment as may be defined and specified
  • Assist in multi-trade support of other members of the FM service team in completing work
  • Escort contractors around the site as and when required in accordance with written procedures
  • Carry out the installation of new plant and apparatus as may be defined and specified
  • Carry out investigations into the performance of the plant and equipment installed in the site and to produce related reports and recommendations as may be required
  • Become familiar with the operation and maintenance of the various systems and equipment installed in the whole of the premises as defined or requested
  • To be aware of all Health & Safety Considerations on site
  • To be part of a call out rota and potential weekend working
Requirements
  • HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering Qualification (C&G, NVQ)
  • Member of relevant technical professional body desired
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Flexible and proactive approach, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Ability to pass a CRB Clearance and Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check)
